According to the Associated Press, 5 staff members at The Sun were arrested along with three other people over alleged bribes paid to police and defense officials.

The Telegraph is reporting that Rupert Murdoch, the owner of The Sun has announced he will continue to own and publish the sun.

In an article published today, Lifted Suspensions on Arrested Staff, The Telegraph reports that Murdoch has lifted the suspension on all staff members arrested and has invited them to come back to work.

The article goes on to say that Murdoch told staff via email,

“Everyone is innocent unless proven otherwise.”

According to a CNN article, Sun Staff Among Eight Arrested, the arrests are part of Operation Elveden, an investigation running in parallel with a police inquiry into alleged phone hacking by the media.
